The commonest thing we find in an unserviced heat interface unit is a strainer full of debris off the building's system. It restricts the flow, the plate heat exchanger cannot get the heat across, and the hot water goes lukewarm. What does a service cost?
£130 for a single property. £120 each for up to 5 properties, and £100 each for 5 to 10 properties, when they are done in the same visit.
How often should it be done?
Ask the managing agent first, because some buildings require it annually and some do not. Where nobody has ever looked at it, the first service usually makes a noticeable difference.
My hot water has gone lukewarm.
That is the classic blocked strainer. It is a service, not a new unit, and that is worth knowing before anyone quotes you for one.
Do you work on gas boilers?
No. We are not Gas Safe registered and we do not work on gas appliances.
How do we get started?

What if the heating or hot water has stopped?
Tell us what has changed and any fault code on the display, and have a look at what the pressure gauge reads. If there is water coming out of the unit, turn the water off at the stopcock and ring us. A photo of the display saves a lot of guessing.
